Rosa Music Program Philosophy
The Rosa Music Program offers multiple opportunites across all musical venues including band, orchestra, chorus, drama, classroom music, and more. The goal of the program is to offer students a diverse approach to music, allowing them to explore various avenues of music participation through opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Over 65% of the school population participates in music though the choral, instrumental and extra-curricular programs, while 100% of the school receives music instruction on piano, guitar and composition during their three years of music exploratories. At Rosa, there is a place for every student who wishes to feed his/her musical curiosity.

Meet The Directors
Mrs. Mark graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Chester University with a B.S. in Music Education. She was a double major on flute and voice and minored in piano. Along with a Pennsylvania and New Jersey Teacher of Music Certifications, she also holds a New Jersey Elementary School Teacher certificate.
Mrs. Mark teaches instrumental music at Rosa. She is responsible for teaching band, jazz band and orchestra, as well as small-group lessons to over 270 wind, string and percussion players. She is also a co-advisor of the school newspaper, The Raptor's Roar. Before comng  to Cherry Hill, Mrs. Mark taught for 9 years in Salem County where she was the director of music for a small K - 8 school district. Her responsibilities there included instrumental music, classroom music, and vocal music, along with being the advisor of many extra-curricular activities including student government, safety patrol and softball coach. In 1993, Mrs. Mark was the recipient of the NJ Governor's Teacher Award.
Mrs. Mark is very active in the N.J. Music Educators Association  where she judges several activities throughout the year, as well as supports Rosa students who wish to participate in regional events. She sits as the current auditions chair for the NJ All State Orchestra. Recently, Mrs. Mark was selected as a guest conductor of the New Hampshire Junior High School Honors Orchestra, has conducted the All South Jersey Junior High School Band and Elementary Band, and  will be the guest conductor of the 2018 All South Jersey Junior High School Orchestra.
Mrs. Mark presents workshops to future music educators in colleges throughout New Jersey, and is currently the co-coordinator of the NJMEA Summer Workshop. Her responsibilities in this organization include data collection, website design and upkeep, along with coordinating workshop events. She has recently been asked to present workshops to colleagues throughout the state. These workshops focus on technology and communicating with students through the vast resources available on the internet and through technology.
Mrs. Mark  keeps active musically outside of her regular teaching  job as a woodwind player in pit orchestras, a keyboard player and vocalist in a band, Memories, and is  beginning a new endeavor as a vocal coach of an a cappella educational program for middle and high school vocal students called Rock N Roll Chorus, Jr!
In her spare time, she is the mother of two awesome young men - D.J. (a recent college graduate and recently engaged!) and Bryan (a college sophomore) - and wife to husband, Jim, who teaches at High School WEST. She lives in Washington Township and loves to spend time on her boat (tubing and skiing), at her lake site on her newly built (with her own hands) dock, and enjoying sports activities such as ice hockey and baseball.
As busy as she seems to be, she is continually looking for new experiences for both herself and the students at Rosa. She is  hoping that every child who participates in this program will come to love their musical experiences as much as she loves teaching them!
